![]() One day I saw them on sale for $3.49 and just couldn’t resist. Not when, I could track down a Ruby Jewel instead. I love Tillamook products, but I wasn’t going to pay up to $5.49 for four small ice cream sandwiches. I had seen this product on the shelf for awhile, but always held off due to the price. I love the standard Tillamook vanilla ice cream, and figured this couldn’t be any different for the ice cream sandwiches. But since this was out of stock I settled for the Tillamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Sandwich. I really wanted the salted caramel flavor. Tillamook’s New Branding Tillamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Sandwich They have since rebranded dropping the Tillamookie slogan. According to Dairy Foods, the product was launched in 2015. In other words, it is the phrase the Tillamook marketing team came up with for this special desert. A Tillamookie is the combination of a waffle cookie with Tillamook ice cream. ![]() What Is A Tillamookie?Īt first read, this sounds like some sort of cheesy marketing phrase. Unfortunately, they were all out of the majestic salted caramel flavor.Ĭheck out our article nominating Tillamook ice as the best ice cream brand. I drove down to my local Safeway to pick up a box of Tillamook Vanilla Bean ice cream sandwiches and Tillamook Peanut Butter Chocolate ice cream sandwiches. So when Tillamook took the jump into ice cream sandwiches, we could not resist. For a blog about off brand products, we write about Tillamook a lot.

The essential lesson is people’s automatic presumption that disabled people, of all ilks, are somehow less than human-that they’re inferior in doing things like holding a coherent conversation. They just need a tool to enable expression, which is why AssistiveWare’s findings were so alarming. Cognitively speaking, Niemeijer told me, many people using AAC devices actually have a lot to say if given the opportunity. He explained that by limiting word choice to just a few options, the parent or caretaker is artificially capping a person’s ability to expand their vocabulary. They don't know what to do, they have not had the training in their university courses.”Ī common thread running through my conversation with Niemeijer was the underlying problem with reducing Proloquo2go’s functionality: doing so presumes incompetence. But most people don't have that background. “And if you're an expert in the field, you can configure it the right way for this particular child or this adult. “In a way, all AAC apps, including our own, they're designed by experts,” he said. The bottom line? Trust Niemeijer and team to guide you in the right direction. For AssistiveWare’s part, Niemeijer and team feels the majority of folks are better off sticking to Proloquo unless, again, they have an insatiable desire-and the know-how-to customize and micromanage. The classic Exhibit A is the oft-cited cry from the nerd crowd that Apple limits the installation of third-party software to the App Store, but Android customers can sideload apps in addition to using the Play Store. ![]() By contrast, Proloquo2go is Android in this analogy: Whereas Apple’s philosophy is more conservative in nature, Google in comparison gives users much more free rein in terms of extensibility and modifying the operating system. ![]() Put another way, Niemeijer likened Proloquo to the iPhone: Powerful yet simple for everyone and impossible to screw up irreparably. Niemeijer estimates over 80% of customers disregard the company’s suggestions, while another 40% opt for the considerably smaller grid of icons. The crux of the issue is most people ignore AssistiveWare’s suggested settings the company recommends a grid of 77 buttons on a page, yet oftentimes users will reduce the size to show only 20. ![]() What originally was designed to be intelligent became a lot dumber. In a nutshell, they found customers-mainly parents, speech & language pathologists, and AAC specialists-were taking an extremely powerful tool and effectively turning it into a toy. Four years ago, AssistiveWare began looking into how people approach the OG Proloquo2go app in practical use what they discovered raised eyebrows and concern. The apps are meant to be complementary of each other. (I, on the other hand, have been covering WWDC up close and personal since 2014.) This year, Niemeijer was eager to tell me all about what he described as the “next generation in AAC technology”: Proloquo and Proloquo Coach. Niemeijer has been attending Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC, for almost two decades. ![]() As the Expository Theme Tune states, they are "brother and sister and best friends as well." Miguel's two best friends are Andy and Theo.It should be noted that while Miguel is usually more sensible than Maya he has taken things too far, notably when he let the "Be Cool" thing get to his head in "I've got to be Miguel".Sometimes Miguel agrees with Maya's ideas although the outcome is always the same and something goes wrong.Inside Miguel's Closet, he has the same style of collared shirts, the only noticeable thing is that they are different colors from the standard light blue to orange and to light green.Miguel has a crush on a girl from his school named Kylie, she has similar feelings for Miguel.Miguel means Michael and Santos mean Saints in Spanish. In the first season's title sequence, there's an instance where Miguel's shoe glows, the way Maya's hairband glows whenever she gets an idea.It is unlikely that they are the home and away uniforms as in one episode, he is seen wearing a red and yellow uniform at tryouts for a big-league travel team. At first, it was a purple-yellow uniform then it changed to a red and yellow uniform. The uniform has actually changed colors throughout the shows seasons and episodes. FYI: I've used a separate actor for the score board (hope this helps.). However, the thing is that I want to create multiple levels, and that I kind of want what I have for the first world (named GameWorld) to appear in level 1, which is in a different world. What this game basically does is that the actor, Doggie, will try his best to catch the clovers and special treats that seems to be falling from the trees by running back and forth across the screen (through the user's left and right arrow keyboard input, of course). For a Greenfoot final class project, I decided to make a game called "Doggie the Super Catcher". ![]() ![]() ![]() However, while it’s true that the visuals have been a HD face-lift, the pre-rendered videos that are scattered throughout the game are still relatively low resolution. Lines are crisp and sharp, colors contrast each other with startling clarity and everything moves at a steady framerate. ![]() The PSP’s 480 x 272 resolution is practically outdated next to today’s Full HD or 4K screens, and Patapon is a feast on the eyes in its new, remastered incarnation. Luckily, the game’s jump to HD visuals means the game’s minimalist art style (reminiscent of the above-mentioned LocoRoco) gets a chance to really pop on your TV screen. It’s not a stretch to say that after an hour of play, you’ll have seen everything the game has to throw at you, gameplay-wise at least. There really aren’t a lot of basic commands to learn and the stages tend to feel blend after a while, especially if you’re playing a marathon session. Nonetheless, Patapon can hardly be called deep. Juggling commands, while maintaining situational awareness, and being alert enough to adapt on the fly is as challenging as it sound, but extremely rewarding when you manage to complete a difficult stage. Miss a beat and you leave your Patapons opened to attacks or even counter attacks. That’s mainly due to the fact that once the action heats up you’ll need to constantly adjust your commands to keep up. While the game is simple to learn, mastery requires nerves of steel and unwavering concentration. Other similar four-beat commands get them to do other actions. For example, drumming out “PON PON PATA PON” commands them to attack whatever is nearest to them. The catch is you do all of that by beating out drum commands to a four-beat rhythm (we did tell you it’s a rhythm game!). Patapons look up to you as a god of sort, and depend on you to guide them as they explore and fight off their evil rivals. If you have never played the original, Patapon has you guiding little creatures called Patapons as they traverse the various stages. Oh, and the enhanced HD visuals certainly don’t hurt. It was also a fantastic showcase of the Portable PlayStation handheld visual capabilities, and Patapon is a splendid example of how a great gameplay can stand the test of time. That's pretty sweet. The PlayStation 4 has gotten two very popular PSP-era games remastered for it – WipeEout Omega Collection and LocoRoco.Ĭompleting the remaster trinity is another classic PSP title in Patapon, a whimsical pseudo rhythm game of sort. If your friends don't have a copy of Patapon 2 handy, you can use the PSP's game sharing feature to share the co-op mode and play on the go! They'll even be able to get the unlocks and when they purchase the full game can use them. Other co-op options include the ability to customize your character's weapons and items before each egg missions allowing each player to take up a defined role in this rhythm based game. If you hit every beat, you crack the egg and get the secret that lies within! By hitting the right drum beats at the right time, you will be awarded great riches that you can spend in single player. Here you and your co-players rhythm are tested once again. Once you and your merry band of Heroes beat all the obstacles before you, the game changes to “DON CHAKA” mode. Along the way you'll face a boss or two as well as various obstacles, so team work is essential. You won't have a Patapon army at your disposal in this mode, only the super powered friends by your side. The way the mode works is simple, you have to bring an egg from point A to Point B with the help of three of your friends. The PlayStation Blog has the details on the game's four player co-op mode called Bring the Mysterious Egg. Patapon 2 is just a few weeks away from it's digital release on the PSP. ![]() Video-wise, you can capture footage at 4K resolution, 60fps, and the default UI supports easy switching between Bluetooth and on-device microphones, which is very handy if you're interested in content creation. The Magic Eraser will allow you to edit out unwanted objects and unblur faces for flawless, detailed digital photos. Modes include Astrophotography, Night Sight, Panorama, Photosphere, and Motion. The secondary camera on the Pixel 6’s black camera surround is ultra-wide, which features a fixed focus lens and 12MP resolution.Īlthough there are only two cameras here, Google's 'computational photography' software modes will ensure decent photos in many situations. Around the back of the Pixel 6 is a 50MP 1/1.31 sensor, featuring 1.2-micron pixels, omnidirectional phase-detection autofocus, laser autofocus, and OIS. This Pixel 6 may cost less than $500, but it's well specced for photography, with bigger sensors than its predecessor, the Pixel 5, and the Pixel 6a, which sits at the top of this list. It's not a huge upgrade over its predecessor, but to be fair there wasn't much that needed changing – and now these features can be yours for even less than before. An AI deblurring algorithm will reduce any blur that may come from an unsteady hand so your self portraits will look stunning.īeyond the cameras, the Nord 2T is a well-rounded mid-range phone with a fairly powerful processor, a good-looking 6.4-inch AMOLED and really fast charging. The front camera has a 32MP sensor, just like the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro. The AI Highlight Video feature will aid in clear shots even amidst low or uneven lighting. Combined with an updated Dimensity 1300 chipset, the Nord 2T especially excels in low-light photography, which means you'll be able to capture some gorgeous night shots with bold colors and crisp lines. The rear camera boasts a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensor. And the £50 drop in RRP to £349 isn't too shabby, either. The OnePlus Nord 2T doesn't offer anything drastically different from the previous Nord 2 – but that's not necessarily a bad thing, given the Nord 2 used to sit at the top of this list prior to the Google Pixel 6a's arrival. |
